The Volunteers, Program manager, art instructor and face painter converged at the orphanage home
at 12pm to set up before the event starts. Art suppliers were set up, tent and chairs, children’s day
celebration cake was set on a table and the face painter set up his section also. The kids were called
in from their rooms at 12:45 and ushered under the tent for the event to start proper.
The foundation was introduced to the kids and we had a short prayer by two kids from the
orphanage (Muslim and Christian)
We had a couple of games to warm up the atmosphere (quizzes and music chairs), each winner of
the games were given gifts. While the games were going on, the face painter was painting the faces
of the kids and volunteers were not left out. The older kids participated in the canvas painting
Session with the guidance of the art instructor. The best 3 painters were awarded gifts and each kid
became enters of their canvas painting.
After the games and paintings, refreshments was served to the kids amidst music and dancing. The
cake was cut and shared to everyone including a gift pack for every child.
The director of the orphanage was not around but was duly represented by the manager who gave
us a warm welcome and expressed his gratitude towards the foundation. The kids had a great time
as well as the volunteers.
The event came to a close at 5:30pm.
