The repercussions of neglecting the meals we consume can have deteriorating consequences on both the individual and society, we unconsciously create an enabling environment for economic burden, that is, a decline in the production level of the nation, healthcare workers will become heavily tasked with a high number of patients especially if there is an existing shortage of medical practitioners, environmental degradation, and death.

On May 2nd,2023, the government placed a ban on the importation of “Indomie” noodles and is also taking steps toward examining ingredients that are likely to contribute to the cause of cancer. This step is a commendable effort by the government in ensuring that manufactured food products are carefully scrutinised before consumption.

Conclusively, not eating a healthy diet can have serious consequences on our physical well-being, mental health, and society. It is necessary to state that a lot of individuals do not possess the financial ability to live up to the requirements of a healthy lifestyle. We can assist these persons by donating food and provisions, the government is also tasked with fixing road networks to enable access to quality food products to all. They should also increase awareness of loans for farmers to enable the production of quality food.
