Kiitan Foundation’s Grocery Giveaway Warms Hearts in Ibadan
The Kiitan Foundation, along with volunteers and the Oyo state program manager gathered at the Ibadan North East LGA with one mission: to make a difference in the lives of those in need.
As the clock struck 9 am, our team resumed setting up tables adorned with an assortment of groceries. From juicy fresh tomatoes to vibrant carrots to bananas and fish produce – the spread was a sight to behold. At 10:30 am, the outreach officially kicked off. The program manager shared the goals and mission of our Foundation. It was clear: to provide healthy groceries to everyone, regardless of their circumstances, and to bring dignity back to those facing hardships in the region.
To keep things organized, each beneficiary received a numbered tag. This ensured that everyone got their fair share of the bounty, and prevented chaos.
The response from the community was overwhelming. Faces lit up with gratitude as they received their free groceries. Many shared how the items would help sustain their families for days to come. Some even expressed hope for more such initiatives to ease their daily struggles.
By 1:20 pm, the distribution came to a close. Volunteers pitched in to clean up, and a brief meeting was held amongst the team to plan our next outreach. At 2 pm, the day came to an end, with our hearts filled with fulfillment.
In a world often filled with challenges, moments like these remind us of the power of kindness and the importance of coming together to support one another. This day in Ibadan, hope was not just a word but a reality, thanks to the efforts of our team and its dedicated volunteers. Check out photos below:
