Have you heard about the upgrade to our Soup kitchen and Healthcare outreach?
We have now fully included Free Eye-care services in our outreach offerings. The health of our eyesight is very important in our daily lives hence the re-introduction of the free add-on services to our outreach events.
Now apart from free healthcare, all beneficiaries would have access to free eye-care services, diagnostics, and treatments on the stipulated day of the event.
The importance of eye care to mankind
Our eyesight is one of the most important senses that we rely on daily for balance and processing our vision: We are able to support our brains to interpret what we perceive through our sense of sight.
It is imperative that we protect our eyes, we have a better advantage of reducing the odds of blindness and vision loss that can be avoidable in the nearest future. We also become knowledgeable on the causatives of developing eye diseases such as cataracts and glaucoma.
Eye Exams: Preventative Maintenance (Investigations)
We should schedule regular visits to the eye doctor also known as the optician and optometrist. This would greatly prevent and help maintain the health of our eyes in the long term. Many other medical conditions can also be investigated through our eyes even by just performing a simple eye examination.
Some of the diseases that can be detected by examining the eyes are as follows:

- High cholesterol
- Diabetes
- Liver disease
- Brain tumours
- Macular degeneration
- Glaucoma

Our eye health
We can’t emphasize it enough that our eyesight is connected to all our senses as they all were created to work hand-in-hand. We can process light, colours, body language etc through our eyes. Good eyesight contributes to improved physical capabilities, night vision, driving skills, improved learning and comprehension and overall better quality of life. What we see is what our brains interpret to us and ushers us to take respective actions.
